Cozy simulators for winding down at night
Some nights I don't want a challenge, I want a game that feels like putting on slippers. Simulators are perfect for that, as long as they aren't secretly built around constant online check-ins.
Meadowbrook Farmstead has been my go-to lately. Planting crops, chatting with villagers, slowly fixing up the place — it's gentle without being hollow. And it runs offline, so I can play in bed with the router off.
The danger with cozy sims is that some pile on timers and reminders that turn relaxation into a chore. The good ones let you set your own pace.
If you want to wind down, look for sims that save locally and don't punish you for stepping away for a few days. Your farm should still be there when you come back.
